Applying for postgraduate study at UNSW is easy. We want to support you throughout your journey at UNSW, from the start of the application process through to your time studying with us. Whether you’re choosing a course or ready to apply, we’re here to help. Let’s get into the details with our step-by-step application guide.
Ready to move your career forward or turn a passion into your profession? Find the right program for you using the degree finder tool to search and compare UNSW degrees.
To be eligible for admission, you need to satisfy your chosen program’s entry requirements. While choosing a program on Degree Finder, make a note of the program’s code, specific entry requirements and English language requirements.
Note: places for postgraduate are competitive and admission is subject to the faculty selection criteria.
When applying for further study, it’s important to consider the financial investment required and your options. Although most postgraduate degrees are fee paying, some degrees have allocated Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs). If CSPs are available for your degree, you will be considered when applying through Apply Online. If you’re applying for a program through UAC, you’ll need to list both CSP and full-fee program codes to be considered.
Applications for most postgraduate degrees are submitted through Apply Online, where you can choose three preferences. Click ‘Register now,’ to fill out your details and upload your supporting documents.
Typical documents* required as part of your application include:
Proof of citizenship
Transcripts of prior studies
Proof of completion of studies (testamur)
English language requirements
We encourage you to submit your completed application as early as possible to ensure it will be processed in time for your preferred term.
